Colt's Critic's Corner - Zootopia
While staying in the lovely Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia this weekend and ordering some delightful room service from the Red Owl Tavern, I decided to treat myself to some in room entertainment. I watched Zootopia. (As a side note, you should definitely stay in this hotel and get room service while you are there. It was fantastic and the service was amazing)
You might think to yourself, “Colt seems like only an action/adventure type movie goer.” Not true. I love movies of just about any variety. Zootopia, did not disappoint. It featured the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman as well as Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Alan Tudyk, Plus many others. Being a Disney movie, the animation was top notch. The anthropomorphic animals in the movie really displayed a whole range of emotions that will likely make you go “Aw” several times throughout the movie.
Overall I thought he story was great. There a lot of “Don’t judge a book by its cover” movies out there, but this one does really good job. I could see the movie easily being used to educate kids that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and not everyone is always as they seem.
I give this movie four pith helmets out of five.
